Le Labour de Jeremy Corbyn vient de rendre public un manifeste pour la démocratie digitale, afin que les avancées technologiques, les données et l'information soient partagées, utilisées par tous et profitent à tous. Parmi ces propositions, notons des aides publiques à la constitution de plateformes coopératives dans certains secteurs clés.

D'après Mark Graham, les cinq stratégies pour améliorer les conditions de travail des digital workers sont : des données appropriées pour voir ce qu'il se passe dans ce secteur ; davantage de transparence dans les chaînes de valeur ; s'approprier les espaces digitaux de résistance ; réguler le marché du travail digital là où se trouvent les donneurs d'ordres ; mettre en place des plateformes coopératives.

"Drawing on a content analysis of the websites of 44 globally operating platforms, this study has investigated the discursive construction of this new type of labour market. (...) The control over online labour that these platforms exercise challenges existing conceptions of professionalism and self‐employment."

"Ville-Veikko Pulkka argues that in an increasingly digitalised labour market, unemployment and precariousness will increase in the short and medium term, at the very least, and basic income could be a means of guaranteeing sufficient purchasing power for those losing out from these developments. However, there are serious limitations to this idea which need to be tackled first."
